The marriage certificate for Asa Turner (b. 01 May 1808, d. 21 April 1852) to marry Anne Crocker was issued in Dallas County on 30 March 1839. It was recorded on 23 September 1839. From census records for 1880, 1900, and 1910 for sons of Asa and Ann Turner, it appears that Asa Turner was born in South Carolina. An Asa Turner is listed in the 1820 Census for Laurens County, SC. Asa Turner was fined $20 for not attending last April term of court (1820) in Laurens District at Hopeland. This Asa Turner is possibly the father or uncle of Asa Turner who married Ann Crocker. However, a documented connection between the SC Asa Turner and the Dallas County, AL, Asa Turner has not been made. No additional information is known at this time about the ancestry of Asa Turner.
Ann Crocker was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. Her parents were Drury Crocker and Lucy Barlow who married in Isle of Wight County on 14 Feb 1793.

Turner (b. 6 March 1848, d. 8 Mar 1856); Henry Littleton Turner (b. 7 Feb 1850 at Pleasant Hill, AL, d. 23 Feb 1940 at McWilliams, AL, m. 25 Nov 1875 to Mary Ellen Harper); and Asa Anna Turner (b. 30 October 1852, d. 29 Dec 1934; m. 5 Sep 1872 in Wilcox County to Nathan Simpson "Simp" Sirmon, who lived in Monroe County).
